Dr. Shyam Johari
Dr. Shyam Johari has a wealth of experience in almost every aspect of product development life cycle and heading business operations for leading IT services companies in USA. Dr. Johari recently served as: Executive Director, Board of Directors at S7 Software Solutions; Director – Product Performance and System Integration at Blue Coat Systems; Management Consultant; and Vice President for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) – America from June 2000 to August 2006.
At TCS, Dr. Johari was responsible for business operations of Hi-Tech vertical, South Central Region and Western Region at various times. Prior to this, Dr. Johari worked with Compaq (Tandem) from 1987 to 2000 as Director of Product Performance, System Integration, and India Software Development for Nonstop Division. From 1975 to 1987, Dr. Johari was with Burroughs (Unisys) in various management roles including Director- Financial Systems Group; Executive Assistant to VP of Corporate Quality; Senior Consultant for Network Design; and Marketing Manager of Burroughs Network Architecture. Dr. Johari was an Associate Editor of SIGMETRICS (an ACM publication) from 1988 to 1998.
Dr. Johari holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from University of Illinois at Chicago.
Mr. Udayan Maroo
Mr. Udayan Maroo is a respected Finance professional with nearly 4 decades of experience. Mr. Maroo was CFO Reliance Communications and Finance Director and Company Secretary, at Gharda Chemicals Ltd. In his 3 plus year stint as CFO of the Rs. 22,000Cr Reliance Communications, in addition to routine CFO responsibilities, Mr. Maroo was involved with Investor Relations and restructuring of Group companies.
Mr. Maroo commenced his career at PC Hansotia and Co (Deloitte Haskins and Sells) with whom he worked for 6 years, before a very successful 28 years stint with Gharda Chemicals. At Gharda, Mr. Maroo was intimately involved in successfully scaling up this technocrat led company to sales of over Rs. 1000Cr. Mr. Maroo has to his credit, the tax-beneficial establishment and responsibility of operations of overseas branches and companies, valuation and structuring of IPR rights, successful negotiation of sale of a large division to a multi-national company, raising foreign currency loans, hedging of forex risks, establishment of an EOU, unique Bank approvals for the inter-changeability of local and overseas credit limits and obtaining global coverage for the company’s credit risk. Several of these initiatives were done for the first time ever in an Indian context. Mr. Maroo was also involved in evaluation of overseas acquisitions and investment in a Joint Venture at Gharda and successful takeover of the joint venture company.
Mr. Maroo was appointed as a member of two high power committees formed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is an adjunct faculty at the prestigious Management School S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research. Mr. Maroo is a Founder Trustee of a trust which provides rural infrastructure for education, hygiene, health and encourages economic independence among rural women.
Mr. S. S. Alam
During his professional tenure he has played various senior roles such as Sr. VP/ Exec VP/ President/ Group Director, and had also been elected to the post of Chairman of overall Management Committee (which he held for over 2 years) for various industries in FMCG, Electronics, Textiles, Chemicals, Tyres, Engineering goods, and plastics etc.
Mr. Alam till recently was working as Group Director with International Foodstuffs Company, a USD 4 Billion Global Conglomerate operating in 42 countries, with Corp. office in UAE. He has also been a co-founder of a large Consulting Group – Master Mentors Advisory Pvt. Ltd., which has an eminent team of very senior professionals with IIT / IIMs background to focus on consulting for SME sector with offices in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Mr. S.S. Alam, product of the most reputed institutes in Asia, did his engineering from I.I.T Kharagpur (1974) and M.B.A. from I.I.M. Ahmedabad (1976) respectively.
